windows 10 saturationAdDuplex claims that the adoption of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is going well, apparently, because the Fall Creators Update rollout is complete. Devices running any previous version of Windows 10 operating system are now allowed to upgrade to the latest release. According to new data provided by AdDuplex, 85 percent of all Windows 10 devices already running the latest version. AdDuplex says adoption of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is going well and “has reached now 85% of PCs.” Windows 10 version 1703 (Creators Update) is still in the second position with a share of 8.1 percent, while on the other hand, Windows 10 version 1607 (Anniversary Update) is third with 5.1 points, it has become the third most widely used version. “Two months ago FCU jumped up by 30%, last month by about 20% and now it added another 10%. The growth is obviously slowing down as the next update is imminent,” said AdDuplex, the largest cross-promotion network for Microsoft Store apps and games. Want more visit OUR FORUM.

“Mixed Reality Cloud”The Microsoft HoloLens is getting somewhat long in the tooth, getting ready to celebrate its second birthday in March 2018. Microsoft has already teased HoloLens 2.0 in July 2017, when it spoke about its new Holographic Processing Unit, which features an AI coprocessor to natively and flexibly implement Deep Neural Networks on the device itself. Posting on LinkedIn today, Microsoft Alex Kipman revealed some more around the use of all that power, saying the artificial intelligence will deliver “superpowers over space and time” and allow Microsoft to “build experiences where people, places, and things become independent of their physical location and can interact with their digital counterparts.” Specifically, the new HPU will allow HoloLens 2.0 to truly perceive its environment. Interestingly, despite the much more powerful hardware in the device, Microsoft will also be bringing more cloud processing to the device, with their new Mixed Reality Cloud. Microsoft notes that they will combine cloud-assisted AI with Mixed Reality, allowing Microsoft to deliver a persistent mixed reality experience with people, places, and things. surface phoneWe have been hearing a lot of rumors about the Surface Phone. One of the most prominent rumors were that the mythical Surface Phone will be foldable and that it will launch by the end of 2018 or in the beginning of 2019. But a recent report from an Italian site claims that the foldable device from Microsoft will launch sooner than expected. An Italian site recently posted an article about project Andromeda or Surface Phone, as the diehard fans would like to call it. The article claims that the device would arrive sooner than what the fans expected. This means that the device may arrive earlier than the end of this year. This is a great news for fans to rejoice as Microsoft has publically announced that they will not provide any new hardware running Windows 10 Mobile. It is clear from a lot of patents filed by Microsoft that the Andromeda device will be foldable. The device is expected to sport the latest and greatest offering from Qualcomm- The Snapdragon 845. Recent benchmarks of the processor suggest that it has a very powerful and efficient CPU paired with a much-improved graphics processor. Microsoft is likely to focus more on battery life as the device is aimed at portability. Visit OUR FORUM for more.

Mixed Reality Academy 213 courseIf you already develop virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) applications – or are thinking about doing so – then there’s a good chance you use middleware development engine Unity or at least know about it. While there are numerous video game engines out there, Unity has become the top dog, with a good chunk of VR titles made using it. So it makes sense that Microsoft would want to make it as easy as possible for Unity developers to work with its Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Hence why the software giant has just released a new series of videos. The series of videos Microsoft has released are for the Mixed Reality Academy 213 course. Composed of six chapters, the series will explore the motion controller’s input events by creating a simple spatial painting experience. With this app, users can paint in three-dimensional space with various types of brushes and colors. Learning how to work with and use the motion controllers is a vital part of any VR experience. While a well designed virtual world can look really nice and impressive, that sense of immersion and presence greatly comes from how you can interact with the video game world. Being able to pick an item up and for it to look like it's in your hand and respond accordingly cannot be underestimated. We posted all videos on OUR FORUM.

Windows 10 Spring UpdateMicrosoft will be releasing its next big Windows Update this spring with Windows 10 Version 1803. From the version number, we can infer Microsoft intends to roll it out sometime in March or thereabouts.  Whether this update will be called the Spring Creators Update as some signs seem to indicate and recycle its 2017 update branding, or whether the firm updates its nomenclature is something for Microsoft to decide. All that said, thanks to the Windows Insider Program, we’ve seen what Microsoft plans to bring to users in this update, and there are a fair few changes to Windows that will come with this spring’s update. With the Windows 10 Spring 2018 Update, Microsoft is introducing features such as Windows Timeline, there will be improvements in Fluent Design, Microsoft Edge will see improvements, while Microsoft tackles privacy concerns, and this new update introduces a new way to share data between devices with near share. The Windows 10 Spring Update is a big one indeed, and there are several other features included, so Please visit OUR FORUM.
Microsoft explains some things that Windows 10 on ARM won’t do PDF Print E-mail

windows on armThe first Windows 10 computers with ARM-based chips are coming soon, including the Asus NovaGo, HP Envy x2, and Lenovo Miix 630. While these won’t be the first devices with ARM-based chips to run something called Windows, they’re different from Windows phones or Windows RT devices in that they’ll run a full-fledged desktop version of Windows that performs almost like Windows on a computer with an Intel or AMD processor. Microsoft has posted some new documentation for Windows 10 on ARM explaining how x86 emulation works and some troubleshooting tips for developers. But the company is also outlining some “limitations of apps and experiences on ARM.” Microsoft is confirming that you’ll be able to run most applications designed for x86 chips thanks to emulation. But 64-bit apps designed for Intel and AMD chips will not currently be supported. Microsoft notes that games and other applications that require hardware-accelerated OpenGL or “use a version of OpenGL later than 1.1” don’t work. surface phone shellMicrosoft’s long rumored foldable Windows 10 Andromeda (Surface Phone) is reportedly launching this year, with the rumors claiming that the company has created several prototypes for testing, but the software is still unfinished and buggy. Microsoft’s foldable mobile device codenamed ‘Andromeda’ will be powered by Windows Core OS, a modular version of Windows 10 supposed to power multiple form factors. If the report from reliable sources is believed to be true, the latest SDK of Windows 10 confirms the existence of “Andromeda” Shell that would sit on top of Windows Core OS as a mobile composer. In Windows 10 Build 17095 SDK, Microsoft has defined ‘Product_Andromeda,’ confirming that such a project is still happening. Devices powered by Windows Core OS will share the same kernel, thus delivering a modular experience. Windows Core OS has many composers that would work with flexible shell, and one of them is a mobile shell (Andromeda). The mobile shell will be launched with the foldable mobile device, it’s worth noting that both hardware and software project refers to as Andromeda.  Get more from OUR FORUM.
