permanently delete your Facebook AccountFacebook has taken a center-stage in a new privacy and data security debacle. An analytic company Cambridge Analytica was found guilty of collecting personal details of Facebook users and then using the same to sway votes in favor of a political party. Further investigation has revealed that several political parties have been availing the service. Facebook stocks have tanked sharply due to this debacle and the company has also lost a fair share of market cap. In the wake of the recent privacy issue, most of the Facebook users are bidding a permanent adieu to the once popular platform. Windows 10 Springs Creators UpdateMicrosoft has completed the development of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update and it seems that the update is finally ready for the general public. A new report today claimed that the Redstone 4 has reached the RTM milestone, and it appears that the update could be released on April 10. If the new report is believed to be true, Windows 10 Spring Creators Update release date could be April 10. The launch would again take place in stages, a few users in the production ring could receive Windows 10 Spring Creators Update on April 10. Microsoft needs up to two months to complete the rollout of the Spring Creators Update. The rollout also depends on the region and as well as the reported bugs. The release date of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update is however still uncertain but it’s likely that the update will be available by mid of April. Without an official announcement, it’s really not possible to predict the release date. Windows 10 Spring Creators Update is a version packed with many new features and improvements. A lot of new changes might be bit buggy on some hardware, so the software giant prefers to roll out updates in stages.

Review: Gunmetal Razer Blade Stealth PDF Print E-mail

Gunmetal Razer Blade StealthSince its inception, Razer has been known for its incredible gaming hardware. Not only that, but the attention to detail the company gives to every product rivals Apple and Microsoft. If you look at any accessory, even the Xbox One controllers, the build quality is phenomenal and even surpasses Microsoft’s entry-level accessories. Razer’s gaming laptops are on another level though. The metal is smooth and feels sturdy to the touch. The green logo stands out beautifully in a dimly-lit room. The keyboard changes color in a seamless way which mesmerizes the user. Razer’s machines are a work of art. However, the company has had limited appeal in the past due to their fixation on gaming machines. With the Razer Blade Stealth though, that stereotype has been shattered because this is the perfect device for any mobile professional. The laptop is made out of aluminum and feels smooth to the touch. If you’ve ever felt Apple devices, you’ll know that the company prefers a rougher finish which is prone to scratches and other issues. Well, you’ll be happy to know that the Razer Blade Stealth’s smooth finish also gives it a somewhat scratch-resistant property. We wouldn’t advise putting your keys in the same bag as the Razer Blade Stealth, but you don’t need to constantly worry about putting it in a case as accidentally hitting it against the corner of your table will give it a noticeable gash. Unlike Apple’s laptops, this device won’t scratch unless you purposely take a sharp metal object to it. This is a surprising blessing for people who hardly have the time to constantly protect their devices. Continue the review on OUR FORUM.

Microsoft is taking over the enterprise antivirus market PDF Print E-mail

windows defenderWriting on their blog, Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise Mobility + Security at Microsoft revealed that Microsoft ‘s Windows Defender antivirus solutions have been rapidly taking market share in the enterprise, and when it comes to protecting Windows 10 solutions, currently has more than 50% market share in companies both big and small. According to Microsoft’s own numbers, 18% of Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices are using Defender and over 50% of Windows 10 devices are using this built-in solution. Microsoft in part attributes this to a great improvement in the efficacy of Windows Defender, noting a complete rewrite in 2015 has seen the solution become near perfect at blocking infections, both in industry benchmarks and in the wild.Efficacy is of course not the only reason to use Windows Defender, as many other companies perform equally well when blocking malware. Anderson lists the following reasons Windows Defender is dominating on Windows 10. Full details are posted on OUR FORUM.

The next update to Google Chrome will block autoplay videos with sound PDF Print E-mail

google chromeGoogle Chrome is, hands-down, the most popular browser with a market share which competitors can only dream of. The nearest competitor in the desktop market is Firefox which has a market share of only 11.5% whereas Google Chrome has a share of about 67.45%. Most of this is because of the simplicity, speed, security, features, extensions, apps, updates and also due to the fact that Google owns the internet. The best part is that Google consistently provides updates which bring new features to Chrome. One of the most annoying things in any web browser is when it plays an autoplay video with sound without giving any clue that the speakers are gonna blow. Google will finally address this issue in the next update by blocking autoplay videos with sound. Google has given three conditions which will automatically play the autoplay video with sound. The first one is that the autoplay media will be played only if it does not play sound by default. The second condition is if the user clicks or interacts with the site. The last condition is  whether the user “has previously shown an interest in media on the site.” This feature was originally planned for Chrome 64 which was launched in January but it got delayed. By the way, the latest version of Chrome is version 65. Follow this on OUR FORUM.

windows 10 safer, more secureMicrosoft always brands Windows 10 as the most secure Windows yet. Statistics were done by analytic companies also come to the same conclusion as is expected since newer operating system means better security. But the real comparison lies in how much more secure is Windows 10 when compared to older versions of Windows 7 and Windows XP. A security report published by Webroot on the malware infections on Windows in 2017 shows some interesting results. Going by the numbers, 63% of all the files were found to be malware in Windows 7 while only 15% were found to be malware on Windows 10. Potentially Unwanted Applications per device on Windows 10 has dropped from 0.06 at the beginning of 2017 to 0.01 by the end of 2017. On taking an average every 100 Windows 10 PCs had 4 malware files while it was double at 8 malware files on 100 Windows 7 PCs. Even then Windows 7 is still the most common operating system used by businesses. At the beginning of 2017, only 20% of known businesses were using Windows 10 but it increased to 32% by the end of 2017 whereas Windows 7 market share for businesses decreased from 62% to 54%. Windows 8 also saw a decrease from 5% to 4%  by December of 2017. Though it is difficult for enterprise companies to migrate completely to Windows 10, they should do it as soon as they can because the longer they stay with Windows 7, the more they are exposed to malware attacks. iOS is now a toxic hellstew PDF Print E-mail

iOS is now a toxic hellstewI like my iOS products, I really do. Do I like them better than my Android products? Hard to say. It used to be a fairly clear-cut kind of thing. I used to be able to say, definitively, that I enjoyed the iOS experience more than the Android experience. Android, as my ZDNet colleague Adrian Kingsley-Hughes has so famously said, is a "toxic hellstew." iOS, due to its proprietary code and completely closed development model, is supposed to be resistant to the types of issues that Android, due to its open source and licensable nature, is commonplace among its various OEM implementations. This is not to say that Android is a bad operating system. Android is an excellent operating system, and it has far more potential in vertical markets than iOS does because it can be altered. As a business mobile platform, I think Android is an absolutely top notch. And Android phones, dollar for dollar, are increasingly better values than their iOS counterparts. Highly competitive Chinese companies like Huawei, ZTE, and OnePlus which have strong vertical integration are continuously demonstrating that. Learn more on OUR FORUM.
